Sasquatch’s 2004 self-titled release comes from a Los Angeles trio that had been active since 1999, with Keith Gibbs on guitar and vocals, Clayton Charles on bass, and Rick Ferrante on drums and percussion. Released through Mad Oak Records, it leans hard into fuzz, heavy riffing, psychedelic rock and the slower, weightier pull of stoner rock. The guitar has the main job here, with bass and drums giving the songs a solid frame rather than dressing them up with extra layers.

The 13-track sequence includes short intros before “Cyrus” and “Yetti,” along with songs such as “Chemical Lady,” “Roller,” “Boss Hog” and “Money Man.” “Cracks in the Pavement” gets additional ending solos from James Burkard, a useful detail on an album built around guitar presence. John “Ninja Dog” Debaun engineered and mixed the sessions at Mad Dog Studios in Burbank, while the band handled production and Chris Gooseman mastered it. This should land with anyone after direct, guitar-led rock that keeps the arrangement to a power trio and lets the riffs carry the weight, especially if polished studio layering leaves you cold.

A fuzz-heavy Los Angeles power trio set built from thick guitar riffs, bass, drums and psychedelic stoner rock drive.
