Hotel Pools' BiLLiE is a relaxed electronic record built around a very specific listener, Billie, a Husky adopted from the Oregon Humane Society. The Portland artist has been active since 2018, and this release keeps to instrumental chillwave, electro and vaporwave with an easy summer feel. It was made using only analog equipment, which suits the unhurried chillout approach. There are no vocals to pull focus, so the tracks can sit comfortably in the room without demanding much from it.
The song titles keep the focus on Billie, from “Fetch” and “Wag” to “Husky,” “Howl” and “Lick,” giving the eight-track set a playful thread without turning it into a novelty record. Fans of laid-back instrumental electronics, especially the softer end of chillwave and vaporwave, should find the mood familiar. BiLLiE is a paid release arriving on August 7, 2026, with FLAC, WAV, AIFF, ALAC and MP3 available alongside CD, vinyl and cassette editions. Artwork comes from Andrew Walker.
