Raymond Watts returns with PIG's latest, four originals plus remixes from Cyanotic, Stabbing Westward, Combichrist and Rabbit Junk. The London outfit has been refining this strain of industrial rock for decades, and Dirt Box finds them leaning into the post-punk side of that equation without softening the edges. Guitars scrape against programmed beats, vocals snarl through effects chains, and the production keeps things raw enough to avoid the over-polished trap some industrial acts fall into.

The remix package accounts for half the tracklist, which means you're getting two distinct versions of this release depending on how you approach it. The originals stand on their own: abrasive, rhythmically direct, built for volume. The reworkings push things in expected directions, Combichrist adds club weight, Rabbit Junk goes harder on the electronics, but they're competent rather than revelatory. If you've followed PIG or any of these remixers before, you know what you're getting.

This is for people who still want their industrial music to sound like it was made by humans with guitars and samplers, not algorithms. It's not trying to innovate, just execute a specific sound with conviction.

Raymond Watts delivers four originals and four remixes of abrasive industrial rock that prioritises grit over polish.
