Kiel’s EARTHBONG bring three slow, heavy pieces to Bring Your Lungs, a live release built around doom, sludge and stoner metal riffs. “Fathead”, “Wax” and “Goddamn High” were recorded during the band’s first Australia tour in April 2025 at Singing Bird Studio in Frankston, with the performances captured live rather than rebuilt later in the studio. The result should appeal to anyone who likes their metal thick, deliberate and close to the room, with the weight coming from repetition and a steady, dragging pace.
Max Dangerfield recorded, mixed and mastered the release, while Brad Nicholson and Artemis Daskevic add vocals to “Wax”. EARTHBONG have been active since 2018, and this set catches the band in a touring context, with the rough edges and push of a live performance left in place. The release is paid, with a vinyl LP alongside digital versions, and the physical edition is limited to 200 copies on recycled-vinyl eco pressings. Some copies include a handprinted insert, while another small batch comes bundled with a skateboard. Doom and stoner rock fans will know the pull immediately, though anyone after polished, tightly edited metal may find the live looseness less inviting.
