Picture put out another one. You already know what that means if you have been following the Central / Natal Zaks records from the last few years. This is a six track EP called Eeeeeeee and it runs at house and techno tempo but it does not sit still. Speedy stuff. Filters spinning, little keyboard licks, occasional vocal cuts that come in and out. Breezy and euphoric on top but there is a dub techno weight underneath holding everything down. The whole thing has a live feel to it, like someone turning knobs in real time and not caring if it is neat. Mike Grinser mastered and cut it at Manmade. Art by Mammo.Works. It is out on vinyl and digital if that is your thing. The vibe reminds me of midwestern techno records from the 90s, that particular balance of light and pressure. Some of the tracks are short and blunt, club tools. Others stretch out into something more like levitation music. Thirty eight minutes and done. You could get a lot done with this on.
