Civic Green's This, Too, Shall Pass is an eight track EP that leans hard into the melodic side of indie rock. The band has been around since 2022 and this release, out in 2026 on vinyl and CD as well as digital, feels like a band settling into a sound rather than hunting for one. The first few tracks, especially The Burden and Seasons, move at a brisk mid tempo with clean guitar lines and a rhythm section that stays out of the way. Time is the quietest thing here, almost a ballad, and it works because the singer sounds like he means it.
Cruel To Be Kind picks the pace back up and The Place I Wanna Go has a chorus that sticks around after the song ends. The two bonus tracks, My Love, My Town and Better The Devil You Know, are not throwaways. They fit the EP's mood and extend it without padding. If you like bands that sit somewhere between straightforward rock and something a little more reflective, this is worth a listen. It is not trying to reinvent anything. It is just well made.
The production is clean but not sterile. The guitars have some grit. The vocals sit forward in the mix. Nothing here is difficult. Nothing is boring either.
