White Hills' Summer Fruit comes from the long-running New York project of Ego Sensation and Dave W, with drums, guitar and synth split between them. Recorded live to a two-track digital recorder at 60b Studios between mid-June and early July 2026, it treats improvisation as the main event rather than a sketch to be tidied up later. The seven tracks are built from repetition and sustained tones, with guitar, electronics and drums circling the same ideas until they change shape.
That approach gives Summer Fruit a loose, physical pull. The titles are playful, but the music itself is less postcard sunshine than a set of compact experiments in texture and frequency, moving between ambient drift, abrasive noise and psychedelic rock drive. There are no overdubs or second attempts. Each instrument was played once, and Dave W handled production as well as the cover art. The uncorrected edges are part of the appeal, though anyone looking for tightly arranged songs may find the album evasive. It should land with people who like White Hills' space rock and neo-krautrock side, along with listeners drawn to live improvisation, synth-heavy rock and recordings that leave the rough edges in place. It's a paid release with a CD edition, and the digital set is offered in several formats.
