Twin Tribes pull from the same well as early Clan of Xymox and the colder end of Factory Records. Drum machines tick through the mix, bass synths sit low and blunt, guitars ring out with just enough reverb to blur the edges. Luis Navarro and Joel Niño, Jr. recorded this with Charlie Vela at Casa Panchita in Weslaco, Texas, a location that matters less than the sound they got: dry, direct, no studio gloss. Vocals stay flat and detached, which suits the material.
The ten tracks move at a steady clip. Nothing drags, nothing rushes. Cauldron of Thorns and Monolith lean harder on the guitars, while Sanctuary and Eternal let the synths do more of the work. The band has been at this since 2018 and the assurance shows. They know what they want and they get it without overreach.
This is for people who still listen to the Batcave compilations and who think goth worked better before it got theatrical. Available on vinyl and CD as well as files.
