Clark’s Opponent Stims follows 2025’s Steep Stims as the second instalment in an ongoing run of related EPs. It’s built around the kind of force that makes sense in a live room, with Relentless Opponent driving forward on a hard, pounding electronic beat and Who Booed the Geese pushing toward a more ecstatic release. The tracklist also includes a second Goose-titled piece, giving the release a slightly absurd streak alongside all that physical pressure.
Frisky Mellows is the most immediately club-ready cut, a fast four-to-the-floor number with a clear Detroit techno lean. Uxor Cut and My Crow Life are smaller, more guarded pieces, useful pauses between the heavier tracks rather than attempts to smooth them out. Clark wrote, performed, produced and mixed everything himself, with Matt Colton handling the mastering at Metropolis. Released as THROT019 and published by Decca Publishing, it should suit people who like their techno strange, forceful and a little playful, especially anyone curious about the material Clark is taking onto the stage.
