Montreal trio Men I Trust stretch out across twenty tracks here, building a world of patient grooves and half-whispered melodies that never quite resolve. The production sits right up close: clean bass, programmed drums with just enough swing, guitars that shimmer without ever getting loud. Vocals float through the mix like they are being overheard rather than performed. It sounds like bedroom pop that happened to be recorded in a proper studio, everything balanced but nothing polished to a shine.

The band leans on repetition. Tracks circle the same few chords for four or five minutes, adding a synth line or pulling the bass back, letting tiny shifts do the work. Some of it drifts into background music. Other moments lock in and refuse to let go. The length is the point: this is music for letting hours disappear, not for checking your phone between songs.

If you want hooks that arrive in the first thirty seconds, look elsewhere. This is for people who treat albums as mood pieces, who value texture over structure and do not mind when a record takes its time getting nowhere in particular.

Montreal trio builds a patient, close-miked world across twenty tracks of circling grooves and half-whispered indie pop.
