Green Lung’s Necropolitan is a nine-track set built from doom metal, hard rock and stoner rock, with folk-horror and occult imagery running through the titles. “Open the Hellmouth,” “Dance to the Grave” and “To the Gallows Born” make the direction clear enough, while “Black Magick Radio” and “Alostrael (Be My Babalon)” push further into ritual and esoteric territory. It’s aimed squarely at listeners who like their heavy music theatrical without leaving the riff behind.
The album was recorded at Rockfield Studios in January 2026, with Tom Dalgety recording, mixing and producing, and Tim Lewis engineering. Tom Templar adds field recordings, and “Black Magick Radio” includes ritual chanting from Tracy, Luke, Lucy, Joe and Sasha. Riley Pinkerton of Castle Rat provides narration on “Alostrael (Be My Babalon),” giving that track a spoken element alongside the band’s metal foundation. Released by Nuclear Blast on 11 September 2026, Necropolitan is available as a paid download in FLAC, ALAC, WAV and AIFF, with a cassette edition too. The 16/44 FLAC should suit anyone wanting a lossless copy of a polished modern heavy-rock production, while fans of doom, classic heavy metal and stoner rock will find the obvious starting point.
