Guck's Gucked Up is a loud, tightly packed collision of jagged guitar riffs, chirping synth lines and rhythms that refuse to loosen their grip. The songs sound close to breaking apart, but they stay compact enough to hit hard rather than dissolve into noise. Tracks such as “Taz,” “Toxic Neutral” and “Human Caterpillar” carry the band's absurdist humour in their titles, while the playing keeps the pressure on. It can feel like noise rock with the brakes cut, though there is enough structure here to keep the eleven tracks moving.

Guck come out of Los Angeles, with Chappy Hull on guitar, Andrew Morrill on bass, Kyle Bray on drums, Sam Rogich on synth and April Gerloff on vocals. The members have links to Gnarwhal, Pile, Designer, Prized Pig, Sprain and other groups from the city's noisier corners. Josiah Mazzaschi recorded the album at Cave Studio in 2024, with Sam Rogich mixing and Scott Levitin handling mastering. Anyone after abrasive rock with a strange sense of humour should find plenty to chew on, especially if clean edges and polite volume aren't requirements. It's a paid release with a vinyl LP alongside FLAC, ALAC, WAV and AIFF versions.

Guck's Gucked Up turns jagged guitars, chirping synths and locked rhythms into compact, absurdist noise rock from Los Angeles.
