Mr BISON's Echoes From The Universe comes from Cecina and was released on 16 February 2024 through the band's own label. Its seven tracks are tagged progressive rock, blues rock, heavy rock, krautrock, psych and stoner rock, which gives a clear idea of the broad, guitar-led territory without pinning the music to one narrow style. Expect a record built around weight and forward motion, with the blues and psychedelic sides of rock pushed into longer progressive shapes.
The album's concept takes its cue from the Norse Norns, but turns their idea of fate into a question of personal choice. Past, present and future overlap, yet the individual still tries to make a path through willpower and chance. That gives the track titles, from “Child of the Night Sky” to “Staring at the Sun”, a suitably cosmic frame without needing a literal narrative. Matteo Barsacchi produced the record, Nicola Giorgetti mixed it at Indipendente Recording Studio, and Carl Saff mastered it in Chicago. Fans of heavy psych, stoner rock and krautrock should find a familiar starting point here, especially if they like their riffs tied to a larger idea. The paid release is available in several lossless formats, with vinyl and CD also offered.
