Ringhausen works with guitar, electronics and field recordings to produce pieces that sit between structured composition and textural disruption. Harmonic Xtortion spans eight tracks, from the eight-minute title opener through shorter excursions in processed noise and sustained drone. The second track pays tribute to Klaus Dinger, drawing on motorik rhythms and repetition. Vocals appear on Tenvox, credited to Bertha von Lohausen, while timeDrone results from a collaboration with Smark of Luzern. The album moves between rhythmic pulse and extended tones, with field recordings threaded through the mix.

Ringhausen operates from Düsseldorf, a city whose experimental lineage runs through Neu!, Can, La Düsseldorf and Wolfgang Riechmann. Those touchstones show up in the approach to repetition and the balance between machine rhythm and organic drift. Released as oz081 in early 2014, the album was made available at no cost in lossless and lossy formats.

This is for listeners who value process over polish, who want to hear electronics used as material rather than decoration, and who appreciate music that acknowledges the Krautrock tradition without simply replicating it.

Düsseldorf experimentalist blends guitar, electronics and field recordings across eight tracks that move between motorik pulse and textural noise.
