Memoria is the third album from Finnish group Hadal Sherpa, a six-track set built around Vesa Pasanen’s guitars, bass, synth and percussion. The music draws from progressive and psychedelic rock, with jazz in the playing and enough space for the arrangements to move beyond standard guitar-band patterns. Ilja Juutilainen’s drums give the pieces their drive, while Ville Kainulainen adds a second rhythm guitar. Pi Viana brings vocals and flute to the otherwise largely instrumental approach. “Omen”, “Caligo” and “Insomnia” set the tone, with the title track closing the sequence.
The album comes from sessions made between 2021 and 2025 at the band’s rehearsal room and home studios. Pasanen wrote the music and lyrics, then recorded, mixed and mastered the release himself. His death in July 2025 changed the final stage of the project, with Max Laine handling final editing and authoring later that autumn, including extra work on the outro of “Memoria”. That gives the release a clear personal weight without changing its focus on guitar lines, percussion and shifting progressive structures. Memoria was released on December 5, 2025, as a paid release with FLAC 16/44, ALAC, WAV, AIFF and MP3 320 available, alongside CD and cassette editions.
