Brooklyn's Boys Go To Jupiter arrive with a 10-track debut built from indie pop, indie rock, disco and ballad writing. Seven songs had already appeared as singles, while “practice,” “Astronauts” and “Theme Song” are new here, placed into the running order the band planned from the start. The sequence is meant to introduce the first chapter of the group, rather than simply gather the existing tracks in one place.
Jess Kantorowitz handles the vocals, with Lucas Mastromatteo and Luke Volkert on guitar, Jack Correll and Volkert on bass, and Caleb Martin-Rosenthal on keys. Isaí Santos is on drums, while violin, viola and cello add a small string section, and trumpet, saxophones and trombone bring a full brass presence to the credits. That lineup gives the pop songs room to stretch beyond a standard guitar-band setup, from dance-minded material to slower ballad turns. People drawn to Brooklyn indie pop with disco touches, horns and strings will find plenty to investigate, especially if they missed the singles as they arrived. The paid release is available digitally in several lossless formats, with a vinyl LP as the physical option.
