Femtanyl's CHASER is a short, nasty blast of digital hardcore that sounds like a MySpace page left out in the rain and then electrocuted. Seven tracks in about twelve minutes. The tempos are ridiculous, the bass is clipped to hell, and the vocals are screamed through what sounds like a blown-out phone speaker. It is jungle and gabber and early breakcore smashed together with rap vocals that are more about attack than flow. "ACT RIGHT" opens with a beat that could be a malfunctioning arcade cabinet. "KATAMARI" is the catchiest thing here, which is saying very little. "MURDER EVERY 1 U KNOW!" features takihasdied and does exactly what the title promises. This is Seattle's cringecore scene, which means it is deliberately ugly, deliberately juvenile, and deliberately too much.
This is for people who miss the era when hardcore was actually hard. If you want something that sounds like Atari Teenage Riot if they grew up on SoundCloud rap and 4chan, this is it. Not for anyone who needs their music to be polite or finished. The CD and cassette releases suggest someone believes in this stuff. I am not sure I do, but I respect the commitment.
